I am the mother of ten boys and the wife of a wonderful man (he designed and built this website for my business - A Stitch in Time). We live in St. Anthony, Idaho. I have been sewing since
I took Home Economics classes in junior high and
high school, and enjoy creative sewing (after the
mending is caught up :).
When a friend
of mine offered to teach me to do monogramming,
which she had been doing for 35 years, I was eager
to learn. She said I took to it "like a duck
to water" and I enjoy it very much.
Recently,
my friend has retired from the business because
of failing eyesight and hearing and has graciously
and generously helped me to begin my own business,
which is challenging as well as satisfying to me
creatively, in addition to helping with our family's
finances.
I also branched out a bit by monogramming different fonts, letter styles and designs. I can embroider nearly any design. I can also work on non-standard items such as camp chairs, wall coverings and more.
I also do general sewing work as well as modifications to special items. As an example, my husband recently bought a new laptop case, but it lacked several options that he wanted and no one case had everything. I had the same kind of fabric as the case he bought and added those things on it for him. You wouldn't be able to tell that it wasn't purchased with those options.
I also report on current happenings in our local area of south Fremont County, Idaho, for our not for profit online news service and community website - SF News and Views. In addition to that reporting, I also serve on our Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints - St. Anthony Stake - public affairs committee.
